We took in a juvenile cockerel and his aunt, Habibi and Bonny.Habibi had a leg injury and needed to be saved from 'the pot', Bonny was being bullied so we took her, too.We were concerned that introducing another cockerel to the flock would cause trouble , as there are two males there already (the inspectors), but seeing as Habibi is still young , we thought we could risk it.So far the inspectors haven't shown much interest in him, but that could change once he starts crowing. The hope is that by that time he's part of the gang and they just get on with it.The inspectors are not particularly aggressive and used to live quite happily with Golden Boy (before he sadly passed away).Every evening at bedtime Habibi and Bonny try and roost in the hedge and we have to get them out of there and put them in the coop for their own safety.... hopefully soon they'll get the message and put themselves to bed with the others #chicken #animalcare #friendsnotfood ...
